Steffen's German wines
The history of Gebruder Steffen Winery is long and impressive. It dates back to the late 18th century, when viticulture throughout Europe was still in its infancy. In 12794, the renowned Steffen Schmitt family decided to establish a winery in the village of Trittenheim. Not yet well-known at the time, but since the Steffen Schmitt clan settled here, it has become a showcase for superb Mosel wines.
The vineyards of Gebruder Steffen
For the first 150 years of Gebruder Steffen's existence, winemaking was still relatively small-scale. The major advances came immediately after World War II, when the winery was led by brothers Johann and Peter Steffen. They invested heavily in improving the quality of their various vineyards. Constant quality improvement was the brothers' current vision, and it has firmly established Gebruder Steffen among the top German wines.
