Vintage Report
The 2019 vintage in Barolo is rated with an outstanding score of 96 according to the Robert Parker charts. The wines from this year are still youthful and powerful in their tannins, indicating a very great aging potential.
The Fenocchio family owns no fewer than four different Barolo crus: Villero, Castellero, Cannubi, and Bussia. Here, they cultivate the finest vines, with an average age of 40 years. Thanks to years of experience, they know exactly what the vines need. They enjoy the perfect climate thanks to the vineyards' high altitude. The fresh breeze blowing through the vineyards offsets the daytime heat, which promotes ripening. This Barolo from the Italian Giacomo Fenocchio is of unparalleled quality. Taste and enjoy!
Italian family business Fenocchio's
Five generations of Fenocchio family have been producing wine from their vineyards in the heart of the Bussia region, in Monforte d'Alba, since 1894. Most of the production was sold locally until 1964, when the ambitious and energetic Giacomo Fenocchio took over the estate. His goal was to make the finest wines in all of Barolo, so he purchased prime plots in some of the Langhe's finest crus, including Villero in Castiglione Falletto and Cannubi. Today, Giacomo's son, Claudio, has taken over winemaking duties for the estate and continues his father's tradition of making pristine wines from Barolo's finest vineyards.Long-term wood aging for Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo
The Nebbiolo grapes originate from the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. At an altitude of 350 meters above sea level, the vineyards enjoy the necessary coolness. The vines are planted on soils consisting of sand, clay, and limestone marl. The grapes are carefully harvested at optimal ripeness. The grapes ferment with a very long maceration of 40 days in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine is aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks and 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. This Barolo is a deep ruby red in color with vibrant, bright highlights. This red wine has an intense, ethereal bouquet, with aromas of licorice and wild rose alongside warm, spicy notes.Product details
