Steeped in tradition and a passion for wine, this family has gifted us with the enchanting Montecillo Rioja Crianza, a harmonious blend of Tempranillo and Garnache. This wine is living proof of the perfect marriage of two grape varieties.

Rioja Crianza: Where Perfection Grows

The Rioja region is a winegrower's paradise, blessed with an ideal climate and geology. Protected by the Cordillera Cantabrica to the north and the Sierra de la Demanda massif to the south, it enjoys a balance of humidity, cold, and warmth. The chalky soils and mild temperature variations create the perfect conditions for the vines. Our Montecillo Rioja Crianza, made with 85% Tempranillo and 15% Garnache, undergoes a careful vinification process. After selective harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and pressed. Both varieties are vinified separately, with the Tempranillo undergoing a gentle alcoholic fermentation and the Garnache fermenting in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in American oak barrels: 18 months for the Tempranillo and 14 months for the Garnache. After this aging, they are blended and bottled, after which the wine ages in the bottle for a further six months.
