Bellingham Pear Tree Chenin Blanc has been a staple in our range for years. Year after year, this top-notch wine remains consistent. This white wine has become the house wine for many! The name Pear Tree comes from the oldest pear tree in South Africa. Bellingham is privileged to care for this tree in their beautiful garden. This ancient tree, believed to have been planted in 1710, is home to numerous birds. These birds ensure that the vineyard doesn't contain too many insects that could threaten the vines. The Bellingham Pear Tree Chenin Blanc is, as the name suggests, made from Chenin Blanc. A small amount of Viognier is also added to soften the wine. The grapes are hand-picked very early in the morning to ensure optimal freshness. The grapes are then fermented. The small addition of approximately 20% Viognier gives this white wine its wonderfully aromatic character.
