Bellingham Pinotage is a true gem! The Pinotage grape is a demanding grape variety. It has a considerable demand for optimal growth. This is why Bellingham Pinotage grapes are planted at an altitude of at least 200 meters. Besides warmth, this grape definitely needs cool conditions, which are easily achieved at this location. The influence of the sea also makes this grape particularly happy.
From Stellenbosch Bellingham Pinotage
The Pinotage grapes for this Bellinham red wine come from Stellenbosch. Harvest takes place towards the end of February, as the seasons are the opposite of those in the Netherlands. Harvesting is entirely by hand, ensuring strict selection of the grapes used in the wine. After pressing and malolactic fermentation, the wine is allowed to rest and mature in oak barrels for 11 months.
Full and very powerful this Pinotage
This maturation results in a delicious Bellingham red wine. The color is deep dark red. The nose is rich with aromas of ripe red and black fruit, licorice, and a hint of pepper at the back. The taste is pure Pinotage! Full, rich, and silky smooth. Thanks to the oak aging, the tannins are pleasantly and softly present. The nuances of red and black fruit are also perfectly reflected in the flavor, with a final hint of chocolate and a touch of licorice. The finish is full and intense. Highly recommended!
