This red wine from Marchesi di Barolo is also considered a small Baby Barolo. Using Nebbiolo grapes from the Langhe wine region makes this red Bric Amel pleasant and drinkable. The relatively old vineyard in the middle of the Langhe is known for its rich soil and perfect climate. The soil consists primarily of quartz and fine silt, which, combined with the microclimate, allows the Nebbiolo to mature slowly. Ideally suited for making a top-notch wine, and it certainly succeeded.

The proof of diversity

With this red wine, the winemaker at Marchesi di Barolo aims to showcase the beautiful diversity of the region. He is unparalleled in his ability to create a deep and full-bodied wine without aging it in oak. This preserves the freshness and floral character of the wine, hence the roses and flowers depicted on the bottle. Nebbiolo is a grape variety that draws fragrant and fruity aromas from the soil. This is particularly beneficial in a region with an extraordinary variety of soils and microclimates. It has resulted in a wine of great harmony, with delicate tannins and a broad bouquet. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and immediately taken to the cellar. There, they are destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in thermo-conditioned tanks. Periodic gentle pumping allows the must to utilize all the trace elements in the skins and gently extract its color. The wine is then stored in steel vats or concrete tanks lined with fiberglass to preserve its characteristic fresh and fragrant aromas. In the years when this combination is worthwhile, the wine is blended with a fair amount of Barbera wine.
