From vineyard to bottle

The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

From now on, the Barrique d'Or is called Brique d'Or, the same quality, new look. Think of the South of France, specifically the Languedoc. Imagine yourself sitting on a charming terrace in a picturesque village. Imagine good weather and place one of the Brique d'Or wines on your table. The thought alone will make your mouth water. This Brique d'Or series is a treat in itself. It comes from Les Caves du Mistral, a major wine producer from the Languedoc region focused on making affordable, premium French wines. Well, they've certainly achieved both affordability and excellence!

The vineyards for this Brique d'Or Chardonnay are located in the Languedoc-Roussillon, in the flat coastal region. Here, the climate is exceptionally favorable for the Chardonnay, which thrives on sunshine. Because the vineyards are situated on the coast, there is ample cooling wind from the sea, creating the perfect balance for a balanced growing season. The winemaker for Brique d'Or wines pays close attention to the vineyards. These Chardonnay grapes are treated like little princes and are regularly inspected bunch by bunch to ensure proper ripening. Once these grapes reach perfect ripeness, the harvest begins. Due to the warm daytime temperatures in the vineyards, it's important that the harvest takes place early in the morning. This makes the skins more resistant to premature bruising or oxidation. Once they arrive at the press, the grapes are gently pressed, and vinification begins. For a phenomenal finish, this Brique d'Or Chardonnay is aged for several months in French oak barrels.

Well, that finish is certainly achieved, what a celebration this white wine is! When the bottle is opened and the wine is in the glass, we see a beautiful straw-yellow color with a deep golden sparkle. The celebration certainly continues with the aroma. With notes of honey, almonds, spices, butter, and cream, the senses are further stimulated. Take a sip and you'll be completely won over! Refined hints of tropical fruit, cream, butter, and toast. The finish is mild and smooth with a pleasant hint of vanilla. It's no wonder many restaurants offer this Brique d'Or Chardonnay as their house wine.
