A true Italian treat, this red Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from the Campagnola winery. The grapes are grown in the warm part of Venice, making this wine full-bodied, powerful, and very smooth! The Montepulciano grapes originate from Tuscany, further north. Therefore, its character is somewhat reminiscent of wines made from the Sangiovese grape: spicy, full-bodied, and the older it is, the better.

Tradition and modernization at Campagnola

The Campagnola winery's range is based entirely on Veronese wines. Located in Valgatara, a suburb of the municipality of Marano in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico region, Giuseppe Campagnola places great importance on tradition in the family business he has led for five generations. He further developed the winery founded by his grandfather Carlo at the beginning of the last century, purchasing various plots of land and maintaining contracts with local winemakers. From the very beginning, the winery has received numerous awards year after year, demonstrating the high quality of this Italian winery. And all this is a commitment to tradition combined with the latest technologies. The Montepulciano grapes are mostly harvested by hand. Once they arrive in the cellar, they undergo a strict selection process, ensuring that only the finest grapes are used for the final wine. After maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the red wine is aged for another 5 to 7 months in stainless steel tanks and also in oak barrels.

What does Campagnola Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Della Luna taste like?

The aroma evokes the Italian sun, with hints of fresh red and black fruit complemented by a touch of toasted oak and sultry cherry notes. The palate of this red Campagnola wine is powerful and spicy, with abundant notes of cherry, berry, and plum. A touch of black pepper adds a kick to this Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. We love serving this powerhouse with antipasti, ravioli, or a barbecue.
