The King's Wine, the showpiece or jewel of Château Haut Blanville, this Grande Cuvée. It's made with Chardonnay and Viognier grapes and sourced from the finest vineyards of this beautiful estate. The soil is 100% limestone and exceptionally rocky. This base, combined with the ideal climate, produces exceptionally ripe, flavorful grapes.
Nationally and internationally recognized wines from Blanville
Founded in the late 1990s, Château Haut-Blanville is a family-run winery in Pézenas, outside Montpellier. Bernard and Beatrice Nivollet moved from Paris to the Languedoc region in 1995 to pursue their dream of becoming winemakers. Drawn by the region's rich and diverse soils, they settled in the Languedoc Grés de Montpellier appellation. Over the years, they have gradually selected and carefully cultivated a collection of vine plots throughout the region. They produce distinctive wines that are a true discovery for connoisseurs. This world-renowned French winery is highly regarded not only nationally but also internationally.
The vineyards of the Terroir des Peyrals stretch across more than nineteen hectares of limestone plateaus and slopes at an altitude of 250 to 300 meters. From this location, you can look out over the Etand de Thau and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. The slopes benefit from a sea breeze, supplemented by winds from the west, north, and northeast. The grapes are consistently harvested in small quantities, amounting to approximately 20-40 hectoliters per hectare for the white grapes.
A full, powerful Grande Cuvée
The grapes are harvested mechanically at night and then rigorously selected, removing all rotten and defective grapes. Only the finest juice is good enough for this Grande Cuvée. After pressing, this white wine is aged for eight months in oak barrels stored in the cellars of Château Haut Blanville. The result is impressive. The aroma is a truly full-bodied, powerful white wine with notes of fresh apricots, preserved peaches, and vanilla. The palate is truly beautiful, full and aromatic with a wonderfully thick structure. Plenty of fresh fruit, including peach and orange, but on the back of the palate, oak, vanilla, and yellow cream.
