This masterpiece is the result of meticulous selection of the finest grapes, including 65 percent Chardonnay and 35 percent Pinot Nero, resulting in a drink that promises refinement and complexity in every sip.

The unique character of Franciacorta rose

The history of Contadi Castaldi is closely intertwined with the Franciacorta landscape and its unique character. It all began with the transformation of an old brickworks called Fornace Biasca, which was converted into a modern winery while preserving its original architecture. This site, once a brick-making facility, is now the aging site for Franciacorta wines, a symbol of renewal and progress. The grapes grow on gravelly slopes with a favorable microclimate, ensuring optimal growing conditions. Harvest takes place in late August and early September. The grapes are gently macerated at a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius for 3 to 4 hours before being soft-pressed. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks with specially selected yeasts, followed by partial malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for a total of 7 months, partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in oak barrels. The wine is then bottled for a second fermentation on the fine lees, which lasts between 24 and 30 months. Finally, the wine is aged in the bottle for approximately 3 months.
