About the winery
Damilano is one of the historic Barolo estates. Its roots go back to 1890, when Giuseppe Borgogno founded it; in 1935, his son-in-law Giacomo Damilano took over and continued the quality journey. Today, grandsons Paolo, Mario, and Guido lead the company. Within the Barolo portfolio, Lecinquevigne positions itself as the classic Barolo, alongside crus from Cannubi, Brunate, Cerequio, Liste, and Raviole, among others.
Volume 2021
2021 is considered an exceptionally good year for Barolo, with powerful, youthful tannins and a slower aging rate. This characterizes wines with plenty of structure and depth, made for cellar development, but which, with a little time to breathe in a decanter, can already be beautifully presented.
Wine and food advice
Classic pairings with this Barolo include braised beef or veal shanks, game dishes, and mushroom dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. This vintage has the structure to effortlessly carry rich, slow-cooked dishes.
