A Chardonnay in its purest form. All the qualities of a charming Chardonnay are present in this Delheim glass. You can taste the craftsmanship that has been ingrained for over 80 years. The winery was founded in 1938 by Hans Otto and Deli, a German couple who originally intended to retire. However, things turned out differently. With the help of their nephew, Michael Sperling, the vineyards came into operation. They were ideally situated, as the Simonsberg offered natural protection from extreme weather conditions. Today, Delheim still stands for quality and craftsmanship, which you can taste in all its fantastic wines.
 The all-rounder Chardonnay

There's no grape in the world as versatile as Chardonnay. Loved by everyone, planted by many. It's easy to grow and produces astronomical wines. Delheim Chardonnay Sur Lie is no exception, grown in the most beautiful spots in Stellenbosch, where they receive ample sunshine but also the necessary shelter. The bunches are pressed whole and fermented. The wine then matures for nine months "sur lie" (on its own yeast) in large oak barrels, 30% of which are new. This new oak releases a wealth of flavor, giving Delheim Chardonnay Sur Lie a delightfully sultry character.
Impressions of Delheim Chardonnay Sur Lie

Because this Delheim white wine is aged on its own lees, it has a wonderful depth. You'll immediately discover this in the aroma, which is lush and aromatic. You'll smell citrus, but also tropical fruits like pineapple and a hint of melon. And don't forget the stone fruit; apricots and peaches add a pleasant note to the nose. A hint of vanilla completes the aroma. The taste is as you'd expect from Delheim Chardonnay Sur Lie: robust, complex, and creamy, with a fresh undertone. The Chardonnay is never too heavy, with refreshing citrus notes that playfully alternate with pineapple, nectarines, vanilla, and oak. A light spice on the palate will make Delheim Chardonnay Sur Lie your new favorite wine.
