This beautiful family estate is located on the northern side of Burgundy, in the Chablis region. Domaine des Geneves is located in the village of Fleys, where the magnificent winery is situated. The winery is surrounded by vineyards, all owned by the family. In total, the family has 14 hectares of vineyards where they pride themselves on producing the large and powerful Chablis, one of France's most famous wines. Over the years, the family has invested heavily in modern winemaking techniques and spent considerable time in the old vineyards. These are in magnificent condition, providing the winemaker with a full and powerful harvest.

Completely hand-harvested for this Geneves Chablis

The Chardonnay grapes are grown on various plots around the town of Chablis. Each vineyard has its own distinct terroir, giving this Chablis its roundness and richness. The perfect climate in the vineyards ensures a slow and unique ripening process. The sun does its work, and the fresh breeze from the mountaintops provides additional cooling during the harvest. The Chablis region is also known for its chalky soil, which gives the harvest a consistently mineral undertone. All grapes are harvested by hand in the morning when they are ripe. Only the finest grapes are brought in. The Domaine des Geneves family name is, after all, very important.

Beautiful classic Chablis from Domaine des Geneves

Opening the bottle, we're already euphoric because, let's be honest, this is going to be a party. So, get the streamers and balloons ready, because the spectacle begins the moment we open the bottle. We smell a powerful aroma of yellow fruit, interspersed with vanilla and light spices. In the glass, it erupts into a golden yellow with a faint green shimmer. Nosing the glass, our senses are treated to a diverse range of aromas. Among them are peaches and apricots, with a light hint of lime and some spice. On the palate, a thick texture with notes of butter, peach, and other yellow fruits. Later, we also get hints of citrus, honey, and some candied fruit. In short, a superb glass of Chablis with great depth and richness.
