A fine white wine from the Donnachiara winery. Although this winery was only founded in 2005, they have already put in a lot of work. This Donnachiara Beneventano Falanghina is perhaps the finest of all their wines. A white wine full of minerals and crisp acidity, which true Italian wine lovers will continue to enjoy.
The vineyards of Donnachiara
When we travel to the Donnachiara winery, we're struck by a great deal. We're not traveling to Tuscany, Veneto, Piedmont, or Puglia, but to Campania. This region has always been somewhat underserved when it comes to wine, yet they are still very successful at producing it. Thanks in part to Donnachiara's expertise, Campania wines are becoming increasingly popular, and a growing number of wine drinkers from across Europe are falling in love with the charm and quality Campania has to offer.
What's even more striking about Donnachiara is its progressive character. The family has been cultivating grapes here for five generations. It has always been the women who have been at the helm. And still is. In 2005, Chiara Pettitto took over the vineyards and founded her own winery. Together with her daughter Ilaria Pettito, they now run Donnachiara Winery.
Donnachiara also has a sustainable approach. Everything is done with minimal impact on the environment, making them one of the few wineries in Italy to do so. Furthermore, the entire winery is solar-powered, and all water is recycled. This is a model many other wineries could learn from.
The smell and taste of Donnachiara Beneventano Falanghina
But beyond the impressive heritage of the Donnachiara winery, they also know how to make beautiful wines. And that, of course, is what it's all about. Donnachiara Beneventano Falanghina is Chiara's pride and joy and is made from the aromatic Falanghina grape. This grape is the queen of Campania's vineyards. In Donnachiara Beneventano Falanghina, it creates a broad bouquet. Think intense notes of quince, floral hints of acacia, and invigorating nuances of peach and apricot. When you taste this white wine, you'll immediately notice its refined character. Flavorful yet wonderfully balanced. That's what we love.
