Elisabetta's dream of creating a magnificent, noble dessert wine came true with the birth of this sweet wine, obtained from the late harvest of Traminer, Sauvignon, and Semillon grapes from the Scansano vineyards. This sweet wine is a meditative expression of Elisabetta Geppetti's energy and vibrancy. For this Fattoria Le Pupille Solalto, the grapes are grown at 200 meters above sea level, and the fresh breeze adds a touch of freshness to this beautiful dessert wine.

Great wines from Fattoria Le Pupille

Fattoria Le Pupille is located in the Maremma region of southern Tuscany, a region along the Tyrrhenian Sea that has gained acclaim over the past 35 years for its wines, particularly those made from Sangiovese. The winery's first official label, Morellino Riserva 1978, was released in 1982. But the turning point for Fattoria Le Pupille came in 1985, when current owner Elisabetta Geppetti became winery director. She began with a clear, simple goal: to make great wines and distinguish Le Pupille's production with elegance and purity of expression. She planted Cabernet Sauvignon alongside Sangiovese and renovated the cellars and winemaking techniques to incorporate modern and innovative methods. The soil is clayey with a strong presence of sandstone gravel. Harvesting begins when the grapes reach a sugar concentration of over 35 percent. This usually occurs around mid-November. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed at a controlled temperature. Fermentation then takes place at a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, followed by nine months of aging in stainless steel tanks. The wine is also aged in the bottle before being released.

What does Fattoria Le Pupille Solalto taste like?

The beautiful, intense straw-yellow color with green highlights immediately draws you in for this delicious dessert wine. The aroma offers a beautiful bouquet of peach, apricot, pineapple, and a hint of citrus. The palate boasts a wonderfully full structure with abundant ripe yellow fruit, and a perfect sweetness that makes this dessert wine truly complete! Because the grapes are affected by Botrytis bacteria, the result is one of Italy's finest dessert wines.
