A new concept wine, a Super Abruzzo. This means it's a blend of 70 percent Montepulciano and 30 percent Merlot. The grapes come exclusively from our own vineyards, situated on a hillside 140 meters above sea level. Here, the grapes enjoy the perfect climate, allowing them to ripen well. Compared to Montepulciano, the Merlot grapes hang slightly lower on the vines, allowing them to dry out a bit more, which enhances the flavor. The result is a full-bodied and rich wine with a smooth finish.
12 months of wood aging for Fosso Corno Zeresimo
Brother and sister Marco and Sabrina Biscardo are at the helm of the young winery Fosso Corno. This winery, located in the heart of Abruzzo, was founded in 2001. Their goal is to produce fine, high-quality wines made from the Montepulciano grape. They offer wines ranging from smooth and accessible to rich and powerful.
The grape varieties are harvested at different times and pressed and fermented separately. The Merlot grapes are harvested in the first 10 days of September after a light drying on the vines, while the Montepulciano grapes are harvested in late September and pressed immediately. After the separate vinification process, the two batches of wine are blended and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Zeresimo is aged for another 6 months in steel vats before bottling.
Enjoy the beautiful elegant tannins of Zeresimo
It's a deep, dark red wine with a wonderfully fruity bouquet. We note plums, blueberries, and pomegranate. This aroma is interwoven with pleasant herbaceous notes. It's a full-bodied wine with a full and rich character. Beautiful, elegant tannins and excellent balance with a rich, lingering finish. Zeresimo pairs beautifully with pasta dishes and game sauces.
