One of Frescobaldi's most prestigious wines is this Brunello di Montalcino. The Castelgiocondo vineyards lie at the heart of the wine region, a unique location with a perfect climate. Plenty of sunshine gives the Sangiovese its depth and richness, while the fresh wind that blows over the hills through the vineyards ensures freshness and a long growing season. And then there are the ancient vines with deep roots in the nutrient-rich soil, because it is precisely this soil that gives the grapes their warmth and spicy notes. The soil, composed primarily of galestro, clay, and Pleocene sands, offers this Brunello endless nuances.

The old Brunello di Montalcino vineyard in Castelgiocondo

The old vines are currently not producing many grapes, but they are certainly producing the finest. The full and powerful bunches are harvested entirely by hand at ideal ripeness and placed in small 15-kilo crates. The attentive care in the vineyard, combined with the typical characteristics of this unmistakable terroir, results in a beautiful harvest. The Sangiovese grapes were hand-picked and undergo a meticulous selection process once in the cellar. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, with frequent pressing during the initial stages. The wine is then aged in oak, where it becomes mature, refined, and balanced. After a full five years in the cellar and a few more months of bottle aging, Brunello CastelGiocondo is ready to reveal itself. It's a prince from Tuscany!

The scent and taste of Castelgiocondo Brunello

The Castelgiocondo has an intense ruby red color, which develops a brown hue as it ages. Fruity notes dominate the nose, ranging from raspberry to blackcurrant, with subtle hints of blueberry. Swirl the wine vigorously in the glass to release all its aromas, revealing notes of spice, leather, roasted nuts, and a touch of red flowers. The palate is dry and warm, with notes of vanilla and ripe fruit. On the palate, it offers nuances of cinnamon, pepper, and leather that combine to create an experience of extreme elegance, finishing with a balsamic note. This is a Sangiovese like you've never tasted before! An experience. The powerful fullness and rich flavors are impressive and delight your palate.
