Description
Graham Beck Brut Rosé, where do we begin? This beautiful, delicate sparkling South African rosé is a true gem among sparkling wines. Or, in South Africa, it's called Vonkel Wyn. The history of this series of sparkling wines is due to the collaboration between Graham Beck and winemaker Pieter Ferreira. This winemaker has a different background than one might initially expect: dentistry. After completing his studies, he wanted to pursue a different path and was given the opportunity to work in South Africa under the guidance of a renowned winemaker and in the Champagne region of France. In France, he developed a true love and knowledge of sparkling wine. Pieter had already built a good reputation, which Graham Beck was involved in. This winery wanted to start producing sparkling wines and needed the right person for this. This combination proved to be a golden duo!
Graham Beck's Old Rosé Vineyard
This Graham Beck Brut Rosé is made from Pinot Noir grapes, along with a small portion of Chardonnay. Both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are excellent sparkling wines, a clear link to the grapes used for Champagne. Pinot Noir also imparts a beautiful light pink color when gently pressed. These Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness. This harvest is carried out entirely by hand to ensure only the finest fruit is pressed. The bunches are then transported in small crates to the press. This prevents unnecessary crushing, which can easily lose the finest juice. The juice from both grape varieties is fermented separately, after which the final blend is created. After this, the bottles, with their yeast, are aged in Graham Beck's cellars for 36 months, where the subtle mousse develops. What does the Graham Beck Brut Rosé taste like?
What a treat it is to taste this Graham Beck Brut Rosé! The salmon-pink color alone makes the sun shine. The aroma offers a rich yet perfectly balanced bouquet of red fruits like strawberries, raspberries, and cherries. A refreshing hint of grapefruit finishes. The palate is wonderfully smooth, with pleasant red fruit nuances balanced by a hint of citrus. The fine mousse leaves a pleasant mouthfeel. The finish is smooth and refreshing with a subtle tingle.Product details
