The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

Le Prestige Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon, from the magnificent Bourdic estate, is one of its gems. Les Collines du Bourdic is located northwest of Nimes, in the dazzling Pays D'oc. The estate has become one of the region's top wineries, evidenced by the numerous medals its wines have won. It was founded as a small cooperative in the early 20th century. Several local winegrowers joined forces and pooled their resources. The success of this collaboration is still evident today. With top wines like this Le Prestige Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon, they remain a leader in the region.

The vineyards for this top-quality red wine are nestled at the foot of the beautiful hills characteristic of this region. These vineyards are all designated "Vielles Vigne," or old vines. While yields are significantly lower than those of young vines, the resulting juice is far more concentrated and of higher quality. These grapes come from Bourdic's finest vineyards. The harvest for this Le Prestige Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon is carried out entirely by hand to select only the finest fruit. After vinification, this Bourdic red wine is aged for 18 months in small barrels, adding character and depth to the wine.

With this information, we suspect we're in for a real treat. Le Prestige certainly lives up to its name. The aroma is incredibly expansive. It's truly a pleasure to savor. Delicious! The aromas of black fruit and mocha interplay beautifully. You can taste how the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon bring out the best in each other. The taste perfectly matches the profile we've been given by the aroma. Intense and full of beautiful nuances of black fruit, chocolate, vanilla, and spices. The finish is rich and long with soft tannins.

Vintage 2022
2022 was een uitstekend jaar voor Languedoc-Roussillon, gekenmerkt door warme en droge omstandigheden. Dit resulteerde in geconcentreerde druiven met een goede rijpheid en expressieve aroma's.
