Soft, refined, and round—those are the magic words for this Merlot from Maison Robert Vic. Because everything is done to make an honest wine with respect for nature. Well, they certainly succeeded! Three points for Mr. Jerôme Vic. It's a time-consuming process, but the vineyards are plowed, for example, so no pesticides are needed. All this just goes to show how pure and ripe this soft Merlot from Maison Robert Vic is.

The rich history of Maison Robert Vic

The estate boasts a rich history and cultural heritage. The medieval castle was built in 1202 by the Vicomte de Pézenas. They produce easy-drinking wines with exceptional value for money, often blended with different grape varieties. In total, they have eighteen different grape varieties, some of whose vines are sixty years old. In the south of France, on the Mediterranean coast, lie the vineyards of Maison Robert Vic. The estate, managed by Jerome Vic and his wife Aurélie, encompasses a whopping 180 hectares. Each year, they face a significant challenge in harvesting a healthy harvest. The vineyards have varying soil structures and microclimates. For example, one vineyard is made up of ash from the extinct volcano Roque Haute. Another section has basalt subsoil, as well as clay and gravel from the nearby Libron River. This makes the winemaking process complex.

Completely hand-harvested for this Merlot

The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by a rigorous selection process. This is followed by modern, temperature-controlled vinification. The result is a Merlot wine with a rich aroma of dark fruit, a touch of spice, and licorice. The palate is supported by ripe black fruit, mild tannins, and soft notes of chocolate, blackcurrant, and stewed plums. An excellent wine to pair with mildly spiced dishes, stews, and hard cheese.
