What a fantastic wine, crafted with love and innovative touches. The Bean Pinotage acquires its characteristic coffee/mocha aroma from the toasted French oak barrels in which it was aged for five months. This barrel gives this Pinotage its own unique style, and upon smelling the wine, you'll immediately recognize notes of coffee and mocha. The aroma also reveals lovely hints of black fruit and light spice. The taste of this The Bean Coffee Pinotage is very smooth and rounded, with hints of black fruit, mocha, coffee, and caramel. The family business Mooiplaas

This venerable winery, idyllically situated in the Bottlary Hills, was founded in 1704. Brothers Tielman and Louis Roos run their winery in harmony with nature and the terroir. Mooiplaas was the first winery to sign up for the biodiversity program, which is designed to protect the Western Cape's incredible biodiversity. The winery's "biodiversity trail" leads over the steep slopes of the vineyards, offering stunning views of the sea, where a pleasant cool breeze always blows in the afternoon. While Tielman is responsible for tending the vines, his brother Louis is fully committed to winemaking. He follows a strict terroir-specific approach, eschewing dominant oak notes and creating wines that age well in the classic Bordeaux style. All his red wines are characterized by something special: a charmingly refreshing hint of mint, white pepper, or eucalyptus on the initial aroma.

The wine is vinified with the utmost care. Winemaker Roos adheres to traditional methods. He believes that wines should be authentic and honor their origins. And that's precisely what he strives to achieve in his wines. Upon opening the bottle, a scent immediately emerges reminiscent of dark chocolate. The wine is very dark in color, like a black plum. It has a distinct Pinot Noir flavor. Smooth and supple, with strong tannins. A fascinating and fantastic wine.
