Luigi Pira Barolo Serralunga is produced by the modern Pira winery. The vineyards are located in the finest crus of Serralunga ad'Alba. Their goal is to produce the very best Barolos from Serralunga and the surrounding area. And this Barolo Serralunga is a beautiful example of that! Thanks to the extended oak aging, classic Barolo aromas have developed, resulting in a beautifully rounded and well-balanced palate.
Barolos of the highest quality
The Pira winery was founded in the early 1950s, initially producing and selling only grapes. Since the 1990s, the winery has been renovated to facilitate the production of high-quality Barolo. The rooms have been restored and enlarged, and the equipment has been replaced, while maintaining a balance between tradition and technology. Pira Luigi produces quality wines thanks to the special characteristics of the grapes grown in the Serralunga d'Alba region. The wines reflect Gianpaolo's high standards and are powerful, structured, and complex.
The 100 percent Nebbiolo grapes for this Serralunga come from vineyards planted in 1959 and 1995. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 320 meters above sea level, with a subsoil consisting of limestone and clay. This gives the grapes unique characteristics. The hills face southwest, which favors the climate. Barolo Serralunga is vinified in horizontal, temperature-controlled fermentation tanks for 12 to 15 days. The wine is aged for 24 months in large wooden barrels.

The Barolo Serralunga has a garnet-red color with orange reflections in the glass. It has an elegant aroma with notes of cherry, hay, earth, and spice. The aromas enhance each other and continue through the balanced acidity and tannins. The palate reveals notes of cherry, tobacco, and leather with a lovely, long finish.
