When you think of Argentina, you naturally think of just one grape variety, and that's the Torrontes grape. Terres Quero Winery has also created a beautiful wine with this grape. The winery itself is a unique collaboration between head winemaker Bruno Kessler and the winemakers of Los Helechos Winery. And that winery is no stranger to Argentine viticulture. For years, they have been producing the finest wines that have been praised worldwide. Both men sought strength and terroir for their Terres Quero wines. They found happiness in Uco Valley in Mendoza. Here were the vineyards called Terres Quero (Land to Love) and were amazed by their location.

The old high vineyard of Terres Quero

At an altitude of 1100 meters, the old vines are filled with the Torrontes grape. This grape thrives in Argentina, enjoying both warmth and coolness. The sun does its work, and the wind and sharply falling nighttime temperatures provide the perfect refreshment for the harvest. This gives the bunches time to mature quietly and draw strength from the soil structure, which is rich in pebbles and clay, allowing the roots to take root deeply. After a long and balanced growth process, it's time to harvest. Early in the morning, the bunches are collected in clay crates and transported to the Terres Quero winery. After a gentle pressing, this white wine is aged briefly in the cellars, after which the bottles are sold.

What does Terres Quero Torrentes taste like?

In the glass, it has a clear color with a green sheen, which is quite appealing. It has a rich aroma of fresh notes like apple, pear, and citrus. Swirl the wine in the glass, and it also reveals light green herbs and hints of gooseberry. On the palate, it's a versatile wine with a fresh mouthfeel and an abundance of white and citrus fruit. Beautiful minerality complemented by mint and a hint of green pepper. The finish is long and refined, making this a true gem from Argentina.
