Three hundred small winegrowers are members of the cooperative Cantina Tramin Kellerei. All the farmers share a single goal: to produce the finest wines from the South Tyrol/Alto Adige wine region. With all their knowledge and experience, they're a sure bet, as the winery has won numerous awards in recent years. Today, winemaker Willi Stürz is in charge of the wines, and this has been a great success for the winery. Further investments have been made in modern techniques, and all the vineyards have been thoroughly reviewed. Everything is now even more seamlessly integrated, and you can taste the difference in the fine wines of Cantina Tramin Kellerei.
A red wine from the Alto Adige wine region

Although Alto Adig primarily grows white grapes, there's also room for a little red. Several vineyards are planted with the indigenous Lagrein grape. This grape grows at altitudes of up to four hundred meters above sea level, allowing for the production of a full-bodied red wine. The soil consists primarily of clay, gravel, and sand, which allows the Lagrein grape to thrive. Throughout the growing season, the grapes receive the perfect balance of sunshine and coolness. This results in a harvest of this red Lagrein grape that is exceptionally beautiful and ripe.
Wood storage for the Tramin Lagrein Rosso Alto Adige

Once the grapes have reached full ripeness, they are harvested by hand, vineyard by vineyard. This is a crucial period because the harvest begins every morning to preserve the freshness of the grapes. After pressing, winemaker Willi Stürz creates the blend for this red wine. It is then aged for six months in both cement and wooden barrels. This unique blend gives the red wine its wonderful character. This is already evident in the aroma, with lovely notes of violets, blackberries, and a touch of spice. The taste is truly impressive, with nuances of bittersweet chocolate, black licorice, and herbs, supported by a powerful tannic structure and a long finish.
