It's no secret that Lagrein was the hero of the Alto Adige vineyards. However, Tramin really goes the extra mile with this Tramin Urban Lagrein Riserva. A perfect wine where everything is perfect. A glass of wine you simply have to sit down and savor. The wine does the rest. Close your eyes and let the flavors overwhelm you: violets in bloom, fresh blackberries, and intense dark fruit. A hint of cocoa bitterness and a velvety finish.
Wines from Italy
We love Italian wines. Each region has its own signature, making the country so unique. Besides established regions like Veneto, Piedmont, and Puglia, Italy has so much more to offer. We're secret fans of the northern Italian wines from Alto Adige, situated between Austria and Veneto, where its unique location creates a unique microclimate.
The Tramin wines from Alto Adige
The potential of Alto Adige was discovered long ago by Father Christian Schrott. In 1889, he decided to bring together several small winegrowers in the town of Termeno (also known as Tramin). Over 130 years later, Tramin has grown into a substantial cooperative, where no fewer than 270 local winegrowers collaborate to create the finest wines. To this day, the Tramin winery is considered one of the pioneers of Alto Adige.
Order Tramin Urban Lagrein Riserva wine
The basis for this Tramin red wine is the Lagrein grape. While relatively unknown in the wine world, it plays a key role in northern Italy. It is widely planted, particularly in the vineyards near Tramin. The grapes for Tramin Urban Lagrein Riserva come from specific vineyards located at altitudes of up to 300 meters! The age of the vines is also remarkable. The oldest Lagrein vines are over 100 years old! After being harvested by hand, the grapes are fermented in oak barrels. The precious juice then matures for another 12 months in French oak and another 6 months in concrete tanks. As the icing on the cake, Tramin Urban Lagrein Riserva spends another 6 months in the bottle before leaving the cellar.
