The grapes for this Broquel Malbec from Trapiche come from various vineyards in the Tunuyán and San Carlos regions of the Uco Valley. These vineyards, planted over 25 years ago, have sandy loam soil and are located at an altitude of 1,100 meters. These exceptional conditions guarantee top-quality wines.

From small vineyard to winery

Trapiche Winery was founded in 1883, initially with a small vineyard at the foot of the Andes, called El Trapiche. Starting as a local enterprise, Trapiche has since grown into a substantial winery. Today, they have 1,000 hectares of vineyards. Besides their own vineyards, they collaborate with over three hundred local winegrowers to offer wine from the finest terroir in the Mendoza wine province. Bodegas Trapiche's vineyards cover an area of 1,075 hectares. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of between 630 and 1,000 meters. At this altitude, the climate is relatively cool, and the temperature difference between day and night is considerable. This allows the grapes to develop excellent aromatic qualities and good acidity. Both factors are essential for great wines. Furthermore, the winery is equipped with the latest technology.

The best quality of Trapiche

The grapes are carefully harvested and sorted. Only the finest quality is suitable for Trapiche wines. After this, they are destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24 to 28 degrees Celsius for at least twelve days. Finally, the wine is aged in new French and American oak barrels for fifteen months. And that's immediately apparent when you pour this glass! The aroma features black and red fruit, supported by notes of tobacco, vanilla, and chocolate. The palate has a sweet start and full, powerful tannins. It develops beautifully with abundant fruit. A long, pleasant finish. This wine is perfect with pasta and creamy mushroom sauce, but also pairs well with ribeye.
