Buy Argentine Wine

This South American gem is now a serious player in the global wine market. Besides being the largest wine producer in South America, it's also well known that Argentina produces high-quality wines, particularly red ones. This heyday didn't happen overnight. The first grapes were planted 500 years ago. It certainly hasn't always been a major wine powerhouse. A lack of knowledge and economic and political instability resulted in mass-produced wines, where quality was rarely considered. Since the economy has stabilized, the political landscape has calmed, and there has been significant foreign investment, Argentine wines are once again among the top performers in the wine world.

Argentina's wine regions are primarily located in the northwest of the country, at the foot of the Andes. The vineyards are also relatively high, sometimes reaching an altitude of around 1,000 meters. This benefits the grapes. Extremely high temperatures are unusual at this altitude. The nights are also relatively cool. This allows the grapes to grow better, and the aromas and acidity in Argentine wines are much more pronounced. Furthermore, the climate and soil offer ideal conditions for viticulture. Several leading international grape varieties thrive here, from Sangiovese to Cabernet Sauvignon and from Tempranillo to Chardonnay. The diversity of the vineyards also makes Argentina a serious player on the global stage.

Argentine Malbec

What Riesling is to Germany, Tempranillo to Spain, and Gruner Veltliner to Austria, Argentina also has its own pride and joy. This pride is called Malbec. Originally a French grape, it thrives far better in the Argentine wine landscape. It is truly Argentina's national pride. Wines made from Malbec grapes produce characterful wines with aromas of plum, blackberry, and cherry. While French Malbec often produces somewhat robust, somewhat strong wines, Argentinian Malbec wines are generally very smooth. Malbec also has excellent aging potential.

Torrontes Argentina

In recent years, a top white Argentinian grape has also been gaining ground. The Torrontes grape was completely unknown a few years ago, but Argentina has put this beautiful grape on the map. The wines burst from your glass. It's rare to drink such an aromatic glass as one made with Torrontes. A growing number of major Argentinian wineries are starting to produce wines with this grape. Finca La Linda, Colome, and Terrazas are all respected wineries that also make fantastic wines with Torrontes. Our tip: try a Torrontes wine, and you won't forget this Argentinian white gem in a hurry.

Argentine wines are like Argentine culture: spirited yet smooth. Argentine wines also pair perfectly with the dishes of this South American country. Try a beautiful, full-bodied Malbec with a steak, and you'll be amazed. It's a perfect match! They enhance each other and bring out the best in each other. Argentine wines are hot, and we know why. They have something for everyone: beautiful indigenous grape varieties like Malbec and Torrontes, as well as international stars like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, or Tempranillo. Get that bottle of Argentine wine, and you'll be amazed. We're sure you'll become a fan of Argentina and its wines!
