Bis by Biscaye's red wine is made from the Marselan grape. Marselan is a recent cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache and is currently widely planted in the south of France. The grape thrives in a warm climate and produces full, powerful clusters with influences from both crossbreeds. The fine Biscaye family winery is now run by the fifth generation, his name is Emmanuel Biscaye. Emmanuel has invested heavily in adding depth to Biscaye's Marselan vineyards, and he has succeeded, and the red wine is now a fully-fledged member of the family.

The old Marselan vineyard of Bis by Biscaye

The old soil with its rich terroir gives the grapes a tremendous amount of vigour. This vigour is also developed in the warm Mediterranean climate where the grapes are grown. Abundant sunshine contributes to a rich growth process, allowing the Marselan grapes to absorb everything from the surrounding environment. The warm afternoons also require cooling to ensure a calm and peaceful growth process. The Marselan grapes appreciate this: the breeze that blows over the hills, but also the coolness of the night. This climate is truly unique, and it translates into a soft and fruity red wine, making this Bis by Biscaye Marselan so beloved.

What does the Bis by Biscaye Marselan taste like?

Now, crack open a bottle and you'll be amazed by the rich aromas and smooth flavors. Open the cap and the vibrant bouquet greets you, with lovely notes of jam, sweet cherries and cassis, blueberries and licorice, and a subtle hint of licorice. On the palate, this red wine is smooth and even smoother, with abundant fruity notes. We noted blackberries, currants, and Black Forest cherries, as well as some light spice and a hint of toffee and caramel. In short, a wonderfully ripe wine with soft flavors and a pleasant finish.
