Top wine from the Pézenas
The vineyards for this Clos des Mures are located around the beautiful village of Pezènas. The soil on which the Grenache Noir, Mourvédère, and Syrah are planted contains clay, limestone, and slate, interspersed with fossils. The Syrah vines are between 30 and 50 years old. The Grenache Noir vines are 50 years old, and the Mourvédère vines are 17 years old. The grapes are harvested by hand at the right ripeness. After harvest, the grapes are destemmed, and each varietal is vinified separately. 40% of the final blend undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. The remaining portion is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels after malolactic fermentation. This superb result is a welcome addition to our collection.
A picture of a red wine
You can imagine that this Clos des Mures from Château Paul Mas is a beautiful wine. The beautiful deep purple-red color with an almost black rim already suggests a lot. On the nose, this red wine has aromas of red berries, cassis violets, cocoa, and coffee with underlying spicy and toasted notes. The beautiful tannins create a red wine with a bite, top-notch. Furthermore, we discovered hints of fruit, wood, toast, and herbs in the taste of this Château Paul Mas Clos des Mures.
