This wine is proof of how delicious red wine can be when the winemaker puts in the best effort, uses the finest grapes, and combines them with the latest technology. This outstanding red wine is a completely new expression of Apulia's production potential, as CignoMoro carefully selected all the local grape varieties to obtain the very best. It has become the hallmark of this Italian winery.

The 6 best grapes for Cignomoro 6 Anime Puglia

The Matichecchi family's winemaking tradition began in 1921, when the grandfather of the current CignoMoro owner purchased the first vineyard, began growing grapes, and produced wine. Unfortunately, the outbreak of World War II forced him to abandon his passion, which had been forgotten for years. In 2001, his grandson, Ciro, decided to rekindle his family's passion, and thus the CignoMoro winery was born. Their main goal is to combine traditional winemaking methods with modern production, and honestly, they do it perfectly. The 6 Anime Puglia is a blend of six indigenous grape varieties: Primitivo, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Nero di Troia, Aglianico, and Susumaniello. Each variety is fermented separately in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures for 12 to 16 days. The second fermentation, known as malolactic, and aging both take place in French oak barrels. When the wine reaches its full potential, the final blend is created. The wine is also aged in the bottle for at least three months before being released for sale.

A perfectly balanced red wine

The Cignomoro 6 Anime Puglia has an intense, dark purple color in the glass. The bouquet has distinctly fruity aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry with a hint of toasted oak in the background. On the palate, the wine melts into a soft consistency thanks to delicate tannins. The blend has been selected for a perfectly balanced balance, so the wine possesses both sweet notes and pronounced acidity. It is soft and pleasant, like a Mediterranean breeze under which grapes have ripened. This expressive wine pairs best with equally expressive dishes. It is therefore best paired with roasted or grilled meats. It also complements a plate of mature, hard cheeses.
