Description
Creation Art of Pinot Noir—we really had to sit down for this work of art. The name of this wine couldn't be more fitting; man, what a wine! The beautiful, clear, dark purple aroma alone is stunning.
The young winery Creation Estate
In 2002, Jean Claude and Carolyn Martin took on the challenge of starting a winery in a remote corner of the Walker Bay Wine Region. It must have been exciting, as vines had never been planted here before. Both grew up in wine-loving families and, armed with the necessary knowledge, were determined and convinced of the area's potential. Together, they founded Creation Estate in the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Five years later, the first harvest took place, requiring the best equipment in the cellar. Since then, they have been working hard to make a name for themselves with their quality wines. The winery now owns fifty hectares of vineyards in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. According to the winemakers, it's all about the quality of the grapes, not about any tricks they can pull off. And the quality is certainly good. The combination of higher-elevation vineyards near the Atlantic Ocean creates a unique microclimate in Walker Bay, from which the grapes can fully benefit. After the careful harvest,What does Creation The Art of Pinot Noir taste like?
To create this masterpiece, the vineyards are carefully selected. Only the finest barrels are used for the final blend. Forty percent of the grapes are vinified traditionally with whole bunches, meaning without destemming or crushing. This is particularly suitable for Pinot Noir, as it creates more color, aromas, and structure. After fermentation, the wine is aged for another year in oak barrels. Afterward, the wine is lightly filtered and finally bottled. And then it's the wine lovers' turn to savor this special wine. The bouquet contains a subtle hint of rose petals, followed by beautiful notes of black cherries, wild strawberries, a subtle peppery note, and a touch of anise. Thanks to the oak aging, we also detected a delicate touch of oak. The palate is truly a "city trip" of beautiful flavors. Lovely hints of cherries and ripe plums, interspersed with spices, earthy mushrooms, and a delicate touch of vanilla. The refined finish completes the journey through this Creation Art of Pinot Noir. Delicious paired with veal sweetbreads and light game dishes.Product details
