What would McManis do without Zinfandel? It's the grape that's inextricably linked to the winery. McManis boasts some of the most beautiful vineyards in the Lodi region, renowned throughout the region. The beautiful, pure bunches of grapes produce a ripe and full-bodied red wine that's beloved worldwide, including by the international wine press, where this Zinfandel was awarded a Best Buy rating of 87 points by Wine Enthusiast.

McManis' vision

McManis Winery was founded in 1990 by Ron and Jamie McManis, the fourth generation of winegrowers. The McManis family has been growing grapes in this region since 1938. The vineyards are located near the cool influences of the San Joaquin and Stanislaus Rivers. Today, the family owns 1,200 acres of land spread across ten vineyards, all certified "Green Winery." With great attention to nature, they employ labor-intensive methods such as defoliation, and they continually invest in new techniques. All this with a single vision: to produce the finest wines and grapes in the Northern San Joaquin Valley using sustainable viticulture.

The aroma and taste of Zinfandel

All grapes are harvested by hand and then rigorously selected again, after which the entire wine is aged in oak barrels. The aging period lasts approximately six months, using French and American oak barrels to achieve a rich and diverse wine. The McManis Zinfandel boasts a beautiful, rich bouquet of red fruit and classic Zinfandel characteristics. The aroma is rich, with hints of blackberry, cherry, and plum jam. The palate of this McManis is exceptionally smooth, rich and round—the hallmarks of this wine! Nuances of plum, cherry, berry, and a touch of light spice and vanilla complete the picture.
