A crown jewel, the showpiece and pride of Weltevrede. We're running out of superlatives to describe this Weltevrede Place of Rocks Chardonnay. Perfection in its purest form, a little celebration with every sip. This was the image of wine when Klaas Jonker founded Weltevrede Winery in 1912. Generous, robust, flavorful wines that perfectly translate the power of South Africa into your wine glass.
Robertson Wine Region: Perfect for Chardonnay
Weltevrede's home base is Bonnievale, a small village on the Breede River. Lourens Jonker was the third generation to take charge of this winery in 1969. He had studied wine at the University of Stellenbosch and had also gained experience at various wineries worldwide. He recognized that the terroir and climate of Robertson were exceptionally well-suited to Chardonnay grapes. A specific vineyard, called Place of Rocks, offered the ideal conditions. The result has been a success, as the Weltevrede Place of Rocks Chardonnay remains a beloved wine among wine connoisseurs to this day.
