Buy Chilean Wine

Chile may not be the largest producer in South America, but it is perhaps the most innovative. For years, Chile has been experimenting, investing, and innovating as a wine country. This has resulted in it joining the top ten wine-producing countries. It's surprising, to say the least, that Chile's wine history isn't so long. The climate in Chile is perfect for viticulture. Chilean wines have undergone a huge boost in recent years, and for good reason. Pure and unadulterated wines are produced in Chile's wine regions. For a long time, these were the four major grape varieties in the world: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fortunately, after many developments, a new attraction has been planted: the Carmenere grape.

Chilean Carmenere

Carmenere is practically the national pride of this elongated South American country. Although this powerhouse is originally French, it now grows more in Chile than in its homeland. Carmenere is a challenging grape that, incidentally, produces sublime wines. The yield of this top-tier grape is lower than well-known all-rounders like Merlot, but the results are superb. The softness combined with the subtle spice makes this Chilean wine beloved worldwide.

Chile is divided into several wine regions. While these wine regions are nowhere near as well-known as the top appellations in France, Spain, and Italy, several wine regions are enough to make many people's mouths water. One of the most famous wine regions is Maipo Valley. This wine region is located just south of the capital, Santiago. This area is the oldest wine-producing region in Chile. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are the main varieties grown in this region, but the Carmenere grape is also a star!

Wines from Chile are Fantastic
Although Chile once imitated European wine styles, it now has a truly unique character. A Chilean wine is always a standout. They are pure and elegant. But above all, as it should be: simple, no-nonsense. No crazy blends or unusual production techniques, just making wine. And that's what it's all about. Attention makes Chilean wines even more beautiful! Moreover, no other country in the world has planted such a wide range of grapes. Besides the well-known grape varieties, Chile now also offers potential for wines made from Grenache, Pinot Noir, and even Malbec.

The last major earthquake in Chile in 2010 certainly caused considerable damage. Numerous harvests failed, and many wine barrels were destroyed by this natural disaster. Chileans are not easily discouraged, and we're grateful for that. They invested in robust wine cellars and accepted the harvest losses. Chile is back on track. Major wineries like Santa Ema, Carmen, Tabali, and Errazuriz still have legions of fans worldwide. Become a fan and open a Chilean wine. Purity and elegance are the key words when it comes to Chilean wines. Try them and be surprised.
