Borgogno No Name, simply fantastic! This red wine from Borgogno is made entirely from Nebbiolo. The vineyards for this wine are located around and just outside Barolo, meaning this wine cannot bear the iconic name Barolo. But then again, what kind of name do you give a red wine that's as good as Barolo but doesn't qualify? This one is simply unnameable. We agree, and certainly the winemakers do too. The solution is simple: call it No Name! A wine that simply cannot be named, and almost impossible to describe, because what a gem this Borgogno No Name is!

Completely hand-harvested for this Borgogno No Name

All Borgogno wines carry the Slow Wine certification. This refers to agricultural and livestock farming methods that respect the rhythms of nature and allow for the proper aging time to bring out deeper and more complex aromas and flavors in our food and drinks. It's all about honest, pure, and clean wines. Borgogno No Name is also an honest and pure wine. All the grapes for this red wine are selected and harvested by hand. Natural fermentation then takes place for 10 to 20 days at a controlled temperature of 23 to 25 degrees Celsius. Maceration follows. The wine is then aged for at least three years in Slavonian oak barrels. After this aging process, the wine is bottle-aged for a further two years.

A perfectly balanced Nebbiolo wine

All this results in a deep red color with brown hues. The aroma reveals aromas of vanilla, spices, and dried fruit. The taste is soft with refined tannins. Beautiful nuances of black fruit, cocoa, and a hint of tobacco. This wine is perfectly balanced with a wonderfully long finish. This wine pairs beautifully with red meat and game dishes. But above all, enjoy it, as it's also delicious on its own!
